From request to outcome

Data requests are answered by those who keep the compliance center, that is owners and administrators. Erasing a person also needs the permission to delete contacts.

  1. Find or record the request

Requests from the portal land on Compliance center → Data requests and the members who keep it are told. For other channels press “Record a request”; the person may not be among your contacts. Each request has a reference and a due day, and a reminder comes three days before.

  2. Act by the kind of request

The request page shows the person, their current record and the actions available (table below).

  3. Let each action reach the record

Every action you take is written to the request's Record. Use “Add a note” for anything you want to add.

  4. Close the request

Press “Complete” or “Refuse” and write the outcome the person will read, naming any legal hold. A person with an e-mail address is told and the portal shows the answer.

No. Only your workspace's authorised members see and decide requests.

How does a person make a request on the portal?

They sign in with their e-mail address and choose an option on My data, such as “Request a copy of my data”. Only one request of each kind can be open at a time.
