İYS (Message Management System)
Definition
İYS is the Message Management System set up by the Ministry of Trade; providers transfer into it the recipient consents they hold for commercial electronic messages, and recipients can view their own consents.
What does İYS do?
Under Article 11(5) of Law No. 6563 the Ministry sets up an electronic system; providers transfer their consents into it within the set time, consents not transferred are void, and recipients can view their consents.
The system matters only for commercial electronic messages (campaigns, newsletters, promotion). Informational messages that carry no promotion, such as appointment reminders, need no prior consent; see the guide for detail.
